by Alexander "Medical Whoopie Cushion" Smith

Save the patient before time runs out in this new real-time cooperative party game, Doctor Panic. Work together to perform compressions, apply electrodes, prescribe medicine and stitch sutures before the patient has a heart attack!

Grab your favorite paperback and get ready for a night of entertainment when you crack open Bring Your Own Book. Skim through the book of your choice for the best answers to the questions given to you, and if your answer is the most popular, you win! We played this at the store with Dungeons & Dragons manuals and a Trivial Pursuit book, and the answers we came up with were absolutely hilarious.

Flower Fairy is a cooperative game for toddlers that will have you stacking pieces and matching colors in order to help Rosalina  the fairy keep the garden beautiful. This is a great tool for early gamers that helps improve their motor skills and concentration while having fun as a team.

A new batch of Rory's Story Cubes are here! Supplement your story telling with new intergalactic, score, and medical themed dice sets. Like other sets of Rory's Story Cubes, these new dice are amazing ways to express creativity or beat writer's block.

WashingCon Update

Get your tickets now!

As September approaches, we are excited to share more WashingCon details with you as we iron them out. We're pleased to announce that Steve Jackson Games (of Munchkin and Illuminati fame) is an official co-sponsor for the event!

Additional sponsors include Evil Hat Productions, Green Ronin, and Bully Pulpit - and with their help, we will be having two full days of a role-playing game track. A more spacious venue means more room for games, and as the conference grows, there are more and more possibilities. Along with a room dedicated to RPGs, we are hoping to incorporate more specific programming, so keep an ear out for more news to come.

Right now WashingCon tickets are approximately halfway sold out - to get yours, click here.  Along with a space six times as large as last year's, the Georgetown University Conference Center has its hotel for folks who are traveling. Additionally, the venue is right next to the student center which has a food court and is open 24 hours for folks who want to stay up all night playing games.

For a full list of sponsors, click here, and if you're interested in sponsorship or vending opportunities, contact us at kathleen@labyrinthgameshop.com.

New Arrivals 4/19/2016

by Alexander "A Slip and a Squeal" Smith

Valeria: Card Kingdoms is a tableau-building game where you will roll dice, recruit citizens, slay monsters or expand your domain. Use your resources well and gather the most points to become a legend of Valeria.

Iron Man, Captain America, and other iconic heroes are ready to join the fight in the new Marvel Munchkin. Are you ready to kick down the door and loot the room, superhero-style?

Happy Salmon is a frantic party game for children and adults alike. Players must get rid of their cards by calling out to each other and finding another player also looking to high five, switch places, fist bump or slap forearms. If you ever see people laughing uncontrollably in a circle at Labyrinth, they're probably playing Happy Salmon.

Baba Yaga is a children's card game where players will cast spells to change the cards in their hands, with the ultimate goal of having the lowest value cards by the end of the game.

Work with each other to match the dice on the bone tiles and spell out the namesake of this cooperative children's game in Lucky Dogs. You'll be howling with delight when you play this dice-rolling and matching game.

Go Away Monster is a shape identification game where you must fill a room with missing objects, and not pick any monsters. Young players will have a blast as they reach in and try to identify objects by touch and keep the monsters away.

Friends and Neighbors: The Helping Game is a empathetic learning game. This is a great game for young children learning to express emotions, help others and work together. Problems you might face could be anything from the pain of "A slip and a squeal" to the sadness of "A flower with no twinkle."

Back in stock: Jaipur, Flick Em Up

New demos: Nature Fluxx, Baba Yaga, Adventure Land, Karuba, Odin's Ravens, Bring Your Own Book

New Arrivals 4/12/2016

by Alexander "Cylindrical Energy Units" Smith

Quadropolis is a game where you will have your architects grab projects from a communal pool and build them in your city. All the staff came in on Monday and we opened up a copy of this to play and we had a lot of fun with it.

Onitama is a two player game played on a 5x5 grid. The object of the game is simple; take your opponent's main piece or capture the other player's starting square. Because moves are limited by cards that won't all be available at the same time, there is a lot of strategy to this seemingly simple game.

The new deluxe expansion for the A Game Of Thrones: Second Edition Living Card Game is here! With this expansion, players will be able to create bold new decks filled with new cards from the House Stark faction.

Finally, we have a copy of the new Emma expansion for the Marrying Mr. Darcy game. Not only does this expansion swap the ladies and suitors with those from another of Jane Austin's books, but it also changes the event deck to add new matchmaker, blunder and interfere cards.

As for new demos, we have a new copy of Quadropolis on our demo shelves that you can try out for yourself! Labyrinth staff aren't the only ones who get to have fun.

New Arrivals 4/5/2016

by Alexander "Mineshaft Madness" Smith

This week, we added another cool tile-laying game to our collection: Karuba. Lay down a path to the temples and score points based on how well you navigate the jungles.

From the designer of Magic: the Gathering, RoboRally, and King of Tokyo, comes the new family mining speculation game: Greedy Greedy Goblins. Send your goblins into caves to collect gems and gold, but don't get blown up by dynamite!

Spinderella is a game for kids where your goal is to safely move your ant from one side of the board to the other. Players will try to stop you, so don't get caught and sent back to the start!

The Stonemaier Treasure Box is the perfect addition for dedicated gamers looking for beautiful pieces for their euro games. Included in the set are beautiful tokens to represent wood, ore, gems, brick, stone, and gold.

Escape rooms have recently become very popular, and now you can bring a fun puzzle-solving adventure to your living room. Get some friends, set up the puzzles, and get ready for an afternoon of fun with Escape the Room: Mystery at the Stargazer's Manor!

We also just had our Prerelease event for the upcoming Shadows Over Innistrad set for Magic: the Gathering. The set goes on sale this Friday, and we are still taking preorders if you are interested in picking up anything from intro decks to booster boxes.

Back in stock this week is one of our favorite stacking games: Bandu! We were so sad when it went out of print right after Kathleen had talked about it on television, but now it's here again!
