by Alexander "Super Cool Ancestors" Smith

Norsaga is a locally designed viking card game where players will add cards representing heroic ancestors to their family tree. You can even embellish your tale a bit in your quest to fill your family tree with heroic traits. If you're looking for a game that can be played quickly and has some very interesting puzzle-y elements to it, Norsaga is for you.

Defend time and space from nefarious villains in Doctor Who the Card Game! Fans of this long-running British sci-fi television show will have endless fun attacking planets with Daleks and Cybermen or helping the Doctor defend them with clever plans and companions. A great game on it's own, but it really comes into it's own when being played by a fan.

Gigamons is a matching game where you must collect Elemon tiles and pair them up to gain control of the larger and more powerful Gigamons. Become a master of the elements in this beautiful tile-matching game for young players.

Animals on Board is a game where you are trying to fill boats with animals and gain points based on which animals you save and how many you've collected.  Named as one of the recommended games by the 2016 Spiel des Jahres nomination committee, this game features both camels AND pandas (two animals that we believe make any game better) so you know that it has to be good!

Dead Man's Draw is a pirate card game of risk and reward. On your turn, you can flip the next card in the deck and take a special action based on it's suit...but if you've already reveled a card of that type, you'll lose everything! Quick and clever, this is the kind of game we love to keep in our bags and be able to pull out at a moment's notice.

The latest Android: Netrunner datapack is has arrived! The Liberated Mind offers new and exciting cards for all factions. Add them to your decks to discover new and exciting strategies.

We have Spin Again back in stock! This is really exciting because this is by far one of our most asked-for item for young children. When we had this spinning gear stacking game on our demo table, it was in near constant use.

World's Fair 1893 is a set collection game for 2-4 players where your goal is to gain prestige by organizing exhibits for the fair. Send your supporter to the Agriculture, Fine Arts, Transportation, Electricity, or Manufacturing spaces to collect cards and establish a majority in the area for later scoring. We'll be organizing a convention of our own later this year, so maybe this will be good practice for WashingCon!

The Castles of Burgundy Card Game is a streamlined and portable version of one of our favorite modern classics: Castles of Burgundy. If you're looking to play a euro game on the go, you really can't do better than this little gem.

Team Play is a card game that is easy to pick up and fun to play. You'll have to help your partner complete objectives in order for you to win, so there is a lot of teamwork involved. If you want to make it a bit more competitive, or have an odd number of players, the game can also be played without pairing up with a teammate. Definitely give the team version a try though, the game is much more exciting when you have to not only think of what's best for yourself, but how you can make your teammate's goal easier as well.

StoryLine: Fairy Tales is perhaps one of the best implementations of the storytelling mechanic found in Tell Tale and the judging mechanic found in games like Apples to Apples. Players use cards in their hands to complete a Mad Libs style fairy tale, and take turns selecting which option they prefer. In our story, we had an old grandmother who we named "Weird Wendy", and detailed her story about how she overcame her problem of being beautiful with the help of a dragon and a mirror. We thought it was incredibly funny, and I'm sure we'll be playing more of this one.

T.I.M.E. Stories: Under the Mask is the latest expansion pack to the popular time-traveling problem-solving game, T.I.M.E. Stories. This new adventure takes you to Ancient Egypt where an unsolved crime threatens to unwind the future. Do you have what it takes to jump back in time and save the future yet again?

New Pokémon sets are here! The Blastoise EX Red & Blue Collection, Zygarde EX Tin, and Yevetal EX Tin are all now in stock. So if you're looking for these powerful Pokémon, then look no further.

New demos: Norsaga, Brain Freeze, Telepathy Magic Minds, Tapple 10, and World's Fair 1893

Antidote is a semi-cooperative logic and deduction game where players pass, steal and discard samples of what could be the antidote to the terrible toxin that has filled the lab you all work in. Only one of the 8 compounds is the correct antidote, so you will have to watch to see which serums other players keep and get rid of if you want your last card to be the correct type. All the staff members got together to play this on Monday, and we had so much fun.

Stockpile is a game that makes insider trading fun! Each round players will know how some of the stocks will change, but not all of them. Face-up and face-down stock cards will be added to several stock piles and players will have to bid against one another to claim the pile. Some of the piles will be filled with junk stocks or trading fees, and will actually lose money for the player, so you'll need to be a savvy trader to make the most profit.

We have a lot of new Pokémon this week! The new set, Pokémon XY: Fates Collide is here with two new intro decks, booster packs and more. Also available is the Pokémon Mega Mawile EX Premium Collection featuring Mawile EX and Mega Mawile EX. Don't miss your chance at grabbing these cool new cards!

We have a couple of new roleplaying books in stock this week: Kingdom and Dungeon World. Dungeon World is a no-nonsense epic adventure game that is incredibly easy to pick up. If you're looking for a fantasy game to start with your friends that's off the beaten path, look no further. Kingdom, on the other hand, is a less combat-focused game that is more about acting out scenarios and building communities. It's certainly something different than most RPGs, but quite enjoyable nonetheless.

Back in stock: Time Stories, World-Wide Wrestling Roleplaying Game, Eight-Minute Empire and Eight-Minute Empire Legends

Android: Mainframe is a strategic area control game where your objective is to hack into a vulnerable network and grab as much valuable data as possible. Each cybercriminal will try to access and control the largest portion of the board by placing nodes and creating partitions to keep other thieves out. The smooth mechanics and the cyberpunk setting of the Android universe give this quick strategy game a great thematic flavor. Definitely give this one a try!

Kodama: The Tree of Spirits is a game where players will use overlapping cards to add branches to a tree and satisfy the needs of the spirits that dwell within. Clever placement will help you score the most points and leave room for future growth as your tree's canopy enlarges. The art is beautiful, and lends itself wonderfully to the unique mechanic of overlapping cards to seamlessly expand the artwork of the tree.

The Warren isn't your typical role-playing game. There are no knights, dragons, elvish princes, or mystical swords...well, there might be, but most of those things go unnoticed by rabbits. Yes, you and your pals are soft, adorable, hyper intelligent bunnies trying to survive and stay together in a world of cats, harsh weather, humans, and other rabbits. Check this book out if you're looking for a little something different in your role-playing sessions.

The Pokémon XY Trainer Kit: Pikachu Libre and Suicune is the perfect way to help new players learn the popular Pokémon trading card game. Included in the set are two 30-card decks that can be played against each other or combined to make one full deck. You'll also find damage counters, a playmat, two holographic cards, a coin, and much more in this pack. And did I mention that one of the holographic cards is a Pikachu in a lucha libre wrestling mask? Because it's true, and that's AWESOME.

The new data pack for the Android: Netrunner living card game has arrived! Salsette Island brings new goodies to corporations and runners of all factions, adding new possibilities for deck building. With the debate on clone rights growing ever more heated in the Indian Union, players will need to use every clever trick and ally available to them

Back in stock, we have one of our all-time favorites; Click Clack Lumberjack! It's been far too long since we've had the pleasure of carefully chopping plastic bark off a toy tree, I can't wait to tap at those unstable logs with a miniature ax.
